Solution
AI Contract Review
Standard agreements arrive faster than a legal team can read them. This solution puts a first pass in front of the lawyer: deviations ranked, positions cited, and the routine agreements cleared without a queue.
The Problem
Most legal departments review the same five or six agreement types over and over. The work is not intellectually hard, but it is unavoidable, and it arrives unevenly — nothing for a week, then eleven NDAs and a supplier framework in two days.
What follows is familiar:
- Turnaround depends on who is free, so the business cannot plan around legal.
- Two lawyers reviewing the same clause reach different positions, and neither is written down.
- Urgent deals get a lighter review than routine ones, which is exactly backwards.
- Nobody can say which concessions the company has been making, because they were never recorded.
How the Platform Solves It
Four mechanisms, in the order they take effect.
Your Playbook, Written Down
Accepted positions, fallbacks and red lines per agreement type — agreed once by your team, then applied consistently.
First-Pass Review
Every incoming draft is compared against the playbook. Deviations are listed with the clause text and the position they miss.
Severity Ranking
Flags are ordered by the severity your team assigned, so a liability cap is never buried under a formatting note.
Clean Routing
Agreements fully inside the playbook go to signature. Anything outside it goes to a named lawyer with the deviation already explained.
Products Involved
This solution is assembled from products you can also use on their own.
What We Measure
Agreed with you before the pilot starts, and measured against your own baseline — not against an industry average.
Frequently Asked Questions
What legal teams ask before putting a model near their contracts.
No. The playbook decides. You define the positions you accept, the fallbacks and the red lines, and the model compares an incoming draft against them. Anything outside the playbook is escalated to a lawyer rather than resolved automatically.
Two to four weeks for a first agreement type. We start from the last fifty executed contracts of that type, extract the positions you actually accepted, and confirm each one with your team.
They are routed to manual review as before, with extraction still available. Nothing is silently approved because the platform has not seen it before.
Yes. Every flag links to the clause in the document, the playbook position it deviates from, and the severity your team assigned to that position.
